About John Hamilton ConstructionJohn was born and bred in Canterbury. As a young man he enjoyed several ski seasons in Colorado USA as a ski guide after which he turned his hand to building, starting his career with an apprenticeship in Los Angeles. It was here he honed his passion for California bungalows and
“New England” and classic colonial style architecture prevalent in the US. On his return to his hometown of Christchurch, he setup his own construction business in 1991 following his passion for character homes. Many of his clients not only had character homes themselves but also property portfolios that required renovations and maintenance. John Hamilton Construction is a Registered Master Builder & Licensed Building Practitioner. Professionally, John is a supporter of the apprentice of the Year Awards and is currently the Vice President of the Master Builders Association in Canterbury. Since commencing trade in 1991, John Hamilton Construction has served 100's of clients in and around Christchurch. John brings a NZ Certificate in Building and 30 years of experience, with specialised expertise in the renovation of old homes. The experienced and friendly team have been trained in their craft under John’s watchful eye with great attention to detail and a passion for older homes. We use a regular team of trusted and proven subcontractors and suppliers. |
